How to clean your Maxi-Cosi car seat
Spillages are a fact of life when you have a young baby or toddler. That’s why we make it as easy as possible to keep your Maxi-Cosi car seat hygienically clean.
Here’s our quick guide to cleaning your Maxi-Cosi car seat
1) Remove from the car
Take the car seat out of the car and remove any toys that are attached to it.
2) Before washing
Vacuum up any large crumbs. If you’re dealing with a wet spillage, use a damp cloth to remove larger pieces of grime.
3) Covers off
We've designed our car seats so the covers can quickly and easily be removed for cleaning. To make it even simpler, we've produced easy-to-follow video instructions showing exactly what to do.

4) Check Maxi-Cosi's cleaning instructions
If you’re not sure of the best way to clean your Maxi-Cosi car seat, check the label or your car seat manual.
5) Machine washing
With a Maxi-Cosi car seat, cleaning is fuss-free. Many of our car seat covers are machine washable to make light work of any spills. Simply remove the car seat cover and pop in your machine. If you cannot remove the cover to put it in the machine, you can use a damp sponge or cloth to spot clean it.
-
We use premium fabrics that won’t shrink or stretch, so they'll stay looking their best for longer.
6) Let the covers dry
Once the cover is dry, you’re ready to put it back and enjoy your next trip out with a car seat that looks and feels fresh and clean.

How do I clean my Maxi-Cosi car seat straps?
The straps on your car seat are in the front line when it comes to spillages. Our harnesses feature removable pads that can be washed by hand or the washing machine. The fixed part of the harness can be cleaned using a soft cloth or sponge with warm water and suitable detergent.
Tip: Try to avoid harsh chemicals and detergents as these can cause discolouration.
-
You must replace the pads correctly, so make sure you follow the instructions or watch our videos.
How often do I need to clean my Maxi-Cosi car seat?
How often you need to clean your car seat depends on how often it is used and on your little one themselves. For example, if your toddler likes to snack in the car, you can expect to need to clean it more often than if they don’t.
Tip: If possible, clean your Maxi-Cosi car seat at a time when you won’t need it immediately, to allow proper drying time.
